Instructions

Step 1: Cut the wood. - Cut the 1x12 pine board to the desired length of the side table. - Cut the 2x2 pine boards to the desired height of the side table.

Step 2: Assemble the frame. - Place the 2x2 pine boards on edge and space them evenly apart. - Clamp the 1x12 pine board to the 2x2 pine boards and drill pilot holes. - Drive screws through the pilot holes to secure the frame.

Step 3: Attach the plywood top. - Place the 1/4-inch plywood on top of the frame and align it with the edges. - Clamp the plywood to the frame and drill pilot holes. - Drive screws through the pilot holes to secure the plywood top.

Step 4: Fill the nail holes and sand. - Fill the nail holes with wood filler and allow it to dry. - Sand the entire side table to smooth out any rough edges.

Step 5: Stain or paint the side table. - Apply the wood stain or paint to the side table and allow it to dry. - Apply a clear coat of polyurethane to protect the finish.
